About Us

Our mission is to attain the authorization and establishment of the National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture on the National Mall by:
  • Coordinating and mobilizing the vast network of Asian Pacific American organizations and constituencies to generate public awareness, execute initiatives to ensure broad support, and implement targeted engagement required for attaining authorization of the Museum;
  • Developing a pre-feasibility study and innovative operating financial models for the museum, including public-private partnerships, and supporting the work of a Commission tasked with drafting a report to the President and Congress for authorization of the Museum;
  • Researching, developing, and disseminating materials needed to inform decisionmakers, public officials, stakeholders, and the public about the necessity, importance, and financial sustainability of the National Museum dedicated to Asian Pacific American history and culture on the National Mall.

The Museum

Our goal is simple: the authorization and creation of a dynamic, forward-looking National Asian Pacific American Museum on the National Mall in Washington, DC.

Imagine: AI-enhanced immersive exhibitions, cultural experiences—from cuisine to theater—showcasing the rich histories and contributions of myriad of Asian Pacific American communities; A museum created to be a vibrant gathering place for families, friends, and communities, of all backgrounds—celebrating, uniting, and inspiring.

Let us create a museum that preserves and shares APA stories and contributions interwoven in America's social fabric. A home to the history that our forefathers, our children, and all Americans will be proud to call their own.

The Movement

Asian Pacific Americans are proud Americans, rooted in diverse backgrounds across generations, ethnicities, and the political spectrum. They are workers and leaders, entrepreneurs and scholars, scientists and soldiers, patriots and humanitarians. Together, with all Americans, they have shaped, strengthened, and enriched the Nation.

No matter your background, position, or age, everyone can take a role in this significant movement to establish the museum. Throughout this Nation, a groundswell of awareness and support continues to build — contributing to the momentum needed to create the Museum.

Together, let’s write a chapter in the Asian Pacific American story.
