About Us

Our mission is to support the authorization and establishment of the National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture by:
  • Coordinating and mobilizing the vast network of Asian Pacific American organizations and constituencies to promote public awareness and targeted engagement, and executing outreach initiatives to ensure community involvement in attaining authorization of the Museum;
  • Supporting the work of the bi-partisan Commission tasked with drafting the report to Congress and the President for authorization of the Museum;
  • Researching, synthesizing, and disseminating materials needed to inform decisionmakers, public officials, stakeholders, and the public of the urgency, importance, direction, and sustainability of a national museum dedicated to Asian Pacific American history and culture on the National Mall.

Our Museum

Our goal is simple: authorization and creation of a dynamic, forward-looking National Asian Pacific American Museum on the National Mall in Washington, DC.

Imagine: World-class exhibits. Immersive curatorial programming. Innovative, engaging, digital, culinary, and live cultural experiences. All to enable captivating presentations of the American histories of and contributions by each of the myriad of Asian Pacific American subgroups — all in a museum that serves as a gathering place of families, friends, and communities — in celebration, in unity, and in uplifting promise.

Let us create a museum that preserves and shares the APA stories and contributions to America's social fabric. A home that our forefathers, our children, and all Americans will be proud to call their own.

The Movement

Asian Pacific Americans are America's story, proud to hail from diverse backgrounds, across generations, ethnicities, and the political spectrum. We are workers and leaders, entrepreneurs and scholars, scientists and veterans, patriots and humanitarians, all advocates for our communities. Together, we make America great.

No matter your background, position or age, make no mistake: In this watershed movement for the authorization and creation of the museum, we all can and must do our part.

Throughout this Nation, a groundswell of awareness and support must be created — to grow the movement and momentum for the Museum.

Tell friends and family. Write to your public officials. Share your story on social media.

Together, let’s write a chapter in the Asian Pacific American story.
