What Information We Collect

With Whom We Share Information and How We Use It
Personal Info - We may use Personal Info to accept donations from you, carry out and record transactions and activities with you, improve our understanding of your interests, improve our services, contact you for future support, notify you of information, activities, events, fundraising, or the like that we think might interest you, permit you to utilize certain features of the Site or carry out transactions or other activities on the Site, respond to you, verify other information about you, or enforce rules concerning or monitor the use of the Site. If you do submit Personal Info to us, we will use it for the purposes for which it was submitted. For Donors, we use and store your Personal Info, including dates and amounts of donations, for record-keeping and reporting purposes as may be required by law, including to report such matters to the IRS. Such information may be retained and used by us indefinitely for such purposes. When you donate to Friends through the Site, we use the services of donorbox.org (“DonorBox”) to collect the donations. We will not otherwise sell, transmit, or rent your email address to any third party, unless Friends has obtained the email address legally through independent means. From time to time, we may send out email messages that might include information about like-missioned organizations and companies, but we do not provide them with access to any Personal Information that you have provided.
Friends complies with those provisions of the CAN-SPAM Act applicable to charitable organizations. All email mailings from Friends will contain a link to unsubscribe from Friends emails.
Other than as described in this Policy, or as may be necessary to protect the rights, property, and safety of our organization or others, or as may be necessary to comply with applicable law, and other than as described in this Policy, we will not give, transfer, or sell the Personal Info you provide us online.
Aggregate Info – Friends uses Aggregate Info to operate, maintain, assess, analyze, and improve the Site, personalize your Internet experience, analyze Site usage, create and provide services and/or products to fit your needs, offer or market products or services by us, our affiliates, or our third-party business partners, prevent fraud, provide technical and other support, conduct research, generate analytics, address internal operations, respond to your needs or requests, and the like. Friends owns all Aggregate Info, maintains copies of it as part of its record, and may share it with related entities, advertisers, sponsors, partners, and other third-party vendors. We may use or disclose Aggregate Info for any purpose. The majority of browsers accept cookies, but your browser may also give you options for preventing, accepting, or receiving notice of new cookies. We do not control such other sites or Third Parties and are not responsible for their content, their privacy policies, or their use of Personal Info. Inclusion of such links on, or use of a Third Party’s services by, the Site does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of the content on such sites or of their owners or operators except as otherwise expressly stated on the Site. While we support the protection of your privacy on the Internet, we expressly disclaim any and all liability for the actions or omissions of all Third Parties, including but without limitation those relating to their use and/or disclosure of Personal Info. Legal Process
In the event we are required to respond to subpoenas, court orders or other legal process your Personal Info may be disclosed pursuant to such subpoena, court order, or legal process without notice to you.

The Site is not intended to be used by anyone under the age of majority within the jurisdiction in which they reside without the supervision of a parent or guardian of majority age. Governing Law, Submission to Jurisdiction, Waiver of Rights
This Policy, your use of the Site, and the privacy practices of Friends are subject exclusively to and governed exclusively by the laws of the District of Columbia in the United States. Unless otherwise expressly provided for elsewhere in the terms of service for the Site, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, with regard to any dispute between you and Friends arising out of this Policy, your use of the Site, or the privacy practices of Friends, you hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located therein, waive any right to a trial by jury, and waive any right to claim inconvenient forum. The Site is not intended for use by anyone residing outside the United States of America, and Friends is not responsible for any use of or access to the Site by any such person.
Do Not Track Technology
The Site does not currently take actions to respond to Do Not Track signals. We continue to review new technologies and may adopt a standard once one is created.
