Asian Pacific American History Is America’s History.

These stories and contributions have been essential in shaping our Nation. Today, no national museum chronicles this.

Now is the time to create one on the National Mall.

A bipartisan Commission to Study the Potential Creation of a National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture, was created and signed into law on June 13, 2022, pursuant to H.R. 3525, sponsored by Rep. Grace Meng. The Commission convened on April 8, 2025 and has, from that date, 18 months to draft and deliver a report to Congress.

This is a first step to attain Congressional authorization required to establish a National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture on the National Mall.

FRIENDS is dedicated to the creation of the National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, independent of the Commission and the Smithsonian.
