A bipartisan Commission to Study the Potential Creation of a National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture, was created signed into law on June 2022, pursuant to H.R. 3525, sponsored by Rep. Grace Meng. The Commission, to be convened in Q2 2025, has 18 months to draft and deliver a report to Congress.
This is a first step to attain Congressional authorization required to establish a National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture on the National Mall.
Friends of the National Asian Pacific American Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit—independent of the Commission and the Smithsonian—formed to garner requisite authorization and to create the Museum.
We invite you to be part of a sustained movement to garner nationwide awareness and public support required for the speedy authorization and the creation of the Museum.
Join us in the bi-partisan effort to present Asian Pacific American history as America’s history.
